Memberships and certifications

Memberships

Our memberships are very important to us and help us achieve milestones and gain knowledge and valuable insights. We are members of several sustainable initiatives within the chemical industry:

Responsible Care

Responsible Care is an ethical framework for safe chemical management and peak performance. It is an initiative from the chemical industry concerned with continuous improvement of health and environmental protection and safety within companies. We act in the spirit of the global Responsible Care movement.

German Sustainable Building Council

The DGNB was founded in 2007 by 16 initiators from the construction and real estate sector, with the aim of promoting sustainable building and raising public awareness of its feasibility. Triflex is a member of the DGNB and we support the government's objectives in the field of sustainable building with our systems and knowledge.

Chemistry 4 Climate

Since 2020, we have been part of this network in which experts are developing concepts to make the chemical industry carbon neutral by 2050.

Energy efficiency network - NRW

We joined the NRW Network for the Paint, Printing Ink and Adhesives Industry in 2020 to contribute more effectively to energy efficiency initiatives.

Chemistry3

The sustainability initiative of the German chemical industry. We actively contribute to this initiative to get a grip on sustainability in all facets of our daily lives.

Certificates & recognition

We are convinced that a successful company can only exist with an organized process and therefore with efficient management systems. We see continuous improvement of these as essential to our success.

Iso certification

Our quality management system has been ISO 9001 certified since 1997. The certification of our environmental management system followed in 1998, then EMAS and since 2001 according to ISO 14001.

In 2014, our energy management system was certified to ISO 50001 for the first time

REACH

REACH is a European protocol on the production and trade of chemicals. We support the objectives of REACH, which are consistent with our own commitment to promoting responsible production, use and handling of our products.

CE Marking

Suppliers supplying materials within the various European countries will soon be allowed to supply only products bearing the CE marking emblem. ETAG 005 contains specified classes for the use of liquid sealing systems that are assessed for durability, strength and fire resistance. Triflex' sealing systems meet the highest standard that can be demanded in all individual classes, according to the ETAG 005.

Ecovadis

Ecovadis has developed a platform that evaluates suppliers based on sustainability. This assessment considers environmental impact, social issues, ethics, and sustainability policies. We have been a member of Ecovadis since 2015 and were awarded ‘Silver’ in 2021, placing us among the top 13% of evaluated companies!

In 2025, we received the fantastic news that we achieved ‘Gold,’ placing us in the top 5% worldwide. We are extremely proud of this result and see it as a great motivation to further strengthen our sustainability efforts!

The EcoVadis sustainability assessment methodology evaluates how well a company has integrated sustainability/CSR principles into its management and business practices.

EMICODE EC1plus

Trifex SmartTec is certified with EMICODE EC1plus, the best emission class meeting the highest environmental and health requirements. This confirms the harmlessness of liquid waterproofing.

Blauer Engel

Onze producten zijn gecertificeerd met het Blauer Engel-milieukeurmerk. Dit Duitse keurmerk, opgericht in 1978, is een van de oudste en meest prestigieuze certificeringen ter wereld. Het wordt toegekend aan producten die voldoen aan strikte eisen op het gebied van duurzaamheid en milieubescherming.
